Tax Calculator

This web page provides a tool for CASD residents to determine their school taxes based on their assessed property value.  The first result should match your 2007-2008 school taxes.  The other results provided are what your school taxes would be if you lived in some of the other Chester County school districts.

The formula to calculate real property tax is: Assessment x millage = tax (face amount).  The County's millage, for example, is the same for all municipalities, therefore the County Tax for a property with an assessed value of $100,000 and a rate of 3.558 mills would be calculated as follows:

100,000 X .003558 = $355.80 (face amount)

Note:  3.558 mills is equivalent to a millage of .003558.  This is comparable to expressing percentage as whole number (5%)  or as a decimal (.05).  In the case of millage, the decimal is moved three places to the left instead of two.

Enter your property value below
and click on the "Calculate Tax" button.
